New open tool from WIPO aimed at selecting the most suitable patent databases for each monitoring and intelligence strategy.

Patents are territorial rights that can be published in a wide variety of national and regional patent databases. Choosing which will be the most suitable for each technology intelligence strategy is one of the purposes of the new WIPO open tool.

WIPO INSPIRE is a collection of reports on patent databases and their features which offers a range of powerful but easy-to-use functionalities for patent information users:

  • a comparison of features for up to four patent databases,
  • an interactive world database coverage map, allowing users to determine, at a glance, which patent databases offer coverage of a specific jurisdiction.
